Meet Nathan Hicks
Nov 2020Here’s a quick Q&A with Nathan Hicks, our new Southwest Territory Manager:
Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
I’m a Northern California native. I live with my daughter in Dixon, CA, which is located between San Francisco and Sacramento. I spent the last 18 years working for Solano Irrigation District in the Vegetation Management department, so I am a longtime user of UPL Aquatics’ products. I also have experience in structural pest control and construction — but I like to say I was “born a biologist” because I love everything about the subject.
What are you most looking forward to in your new position?
I’m excited for the chance to put what I’ve learned about managing aquatic vegetation to work helping our customers get the most of our great products. I love to talk with people and help them, so I am thrilled that my new job requires me to do both.
How do you spend your time when you’re not working?
I have a passion for fishing and I’m fortunate that from where I live, I can get to the ocean and to great trout streams throughout the Sierra Nevada mountains. I like to go for trout out where no one else goes, so I modified a Jeep to be able to do that. I also hunt for ducks and other game birds.
